The Indiana Chamber of Commerce is a business membership organization focused on providing legislative, regulatory and political advocacy in the General Assembly and in Congress. The Indiana Chamber also offers compliance-related publications and seminars to educate businesses about state and federal regulations.
A native of Whitestown, Matt L. Ottinger is director of publications and social media for the Indiana Chamber and a writer for BizVoice® magazine. Matt joined the Chamber in 2007 after serving for three years as an editor at a newspaper in Wyoming and then working for a U.S. Senator’s PAC in Iowa. During his time in Wyoming, Matt learned about the majesty of mountains, the harsh realities of snow in June, and the joys of having acquaintances named “Skeeter.” Matt is a graduate of Lebanon High School and Indiana University — and is convinced the Hoosier State is the best in this here Union.
Tom Schuman is vice president of communications for the Indiana Chamber and editor of the organization’s BizVoice® magazine. He has been with the Chamber since 1998, following 14 years in the newspaper business. That means he must have started writing when he was really young. Stops along the way to the Chamber included St. Leon (that’s in Dearborn County, near Cincinnati), East Central High School, Ball State University and newspapers in Watseka, Illinois, Wabash and Anderson.
